New York for K-State's appearance in a bowl game was fun but extremely hurried and fast. I did not expect a few things. Among them, Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs are close together mileage wise but yet extremely far apart in terms of time. For instance, to go just a few miles, it might take a person an hour. Craziness!
But enough about the traffic and the congestion, what about the photos? My favorite photos of New York happened the day after we arrived when the band played a few hours before kickoff. The plaza in front of Yankee Stadium was packed listening to the band while more and more people arrived for the game.

V-Flats: A Light Source from Beyond!
So I have to admit something. I first read about V-flats awhile ago on Joe McNally's blog and thought to myself, those can't produce THAT great of light. I mean, come on. All a V-flat is is two pieces of foam core basically taped together with a flash bounced into them. What's the big deal? Well, I was wrong.
Can we say GINORMOUS light source that cannot be duplicated unless you want to pay hundreds of dollars for a huge octabox or something similar.
Jennifer and I did the best with what little space we had and the photos did not disappoint! This shoot, like so many others, was fun and short, which is what many people on the other end of the camera end up liking :)
